Study on the Soil Deterioration Mechanism in the Subsidence Zone of the Wildcat Landslide in the Three Gorges Reservoir Area

The stability of soil mass near the dam bank in Three Gorges Reservoir is closely related to periodic variation reservoir water level. In order study influence level on mass, fluctuation zone Wildcat landslide was taken as research object, and mechanism deterioration this area revealed by comparing strength mineral structure characteristics at different elevations means macro- meso-microscopic analysis. results show following: (1) With increase sampling elevation, natural content decreases, dry density a minimum when elevation 155 m maximum 175 m. (2) dissipation can be divided into three areas: When 145–155 m, fractal dimension increases, fragmentation cohesion increases. 155–175 weakens. greater than there no deterioration. (3) X-ray diffraction (XRD) nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) were used test soil’s composition pore size elevations. It found that main reason for severe macro-strength parameters proportion clay minerals quartz lowest, medium pores large highest. (4) Through combination macro mesoscopic testing analysis, it rise fall will lead strong chemical action skeleton cemented dissolution degradation-enhanced area, well physical particles, resulting formation more eventually seepage channels.
